This is a great video from positive psychology researcher Shawn Achor. Shawn is speaking at some sort of business conference I think, but the advantages of happiness that he talks about are very applicable to anyone, business oriented or not.

Since embedding on this particular video is disabled for some reason you have to actually go on over to youtube to see it, which I know is a pain, but here’s a paraphrased quote from the video to pique your interest a little bit:

Happiness is an unfair advantage over the people who are trying to live their lives in a neutral state, because with happiness you’re better at securing jobs, better at keeping jobs, experience less burn out, have greater performance, greater productivity, more resilience, less turn over, and greater amounts of sales. - Shawn Achor
